Don’t hold your breath, but great question. Prior to the Florida Legislature enacting red light camera legislation in 2010, a few cities set up their own red light camera programs. Those pre-2010 red light camera tickets are the ones that are at issue. The Florida Supreme Court is set to rule on whether or not drivers who got tickets before 2010 are entitled to refunds. The argument is that the cites had no legal authority to set up, or give out, red light camera tickets. Most of the $50,000,000+ collected in red light camera tickets was after the 2010 camera laws went into effect. Thus, most people won’t be affected.
